Yo Joe!

No, this site isn't about me, which would automatically make it qualified to be reviewed as a Weird Website; rather, it's dedicated to the 3 3/4" GI Joe action figures that Hasbro began releasing in 1982 and continue to produce to this very day. If you're into Joes, this site is the mecca of Joe sites. The site boasts photos of every figure, every variation of every figure, and every single weapon that came with said figure. (How many times can I saw figure in one sentence? Three, apparently.) You can view figures both in and out of the package and even peruse a gallery of bootlegs and prototypes. Go Joe!

Britney's Guide to Semiconductor Physics

Who knew that pop singing sensation Britney Spears was also an expert in semiconductor physics? Not content with simply singing, says the site, Spears will guide you in the fundamentals of the vital laser components that have made it possible to hear her music in a digital format. Learn about lasers, semiconductors, radiative and non-radiative transitions, and more, all courtesy of Ms. Spears incredible intellect! You can even download official Britney's Guide to Semiconductor Physics wallpaper for your PC.

BigPuns.com

I have to admit it; I'm a sucker for puns. That said, I'm convinced that someone took a peek inside my head and created BigPuns.com out of what they found. The website boasts nearly 2,000 puns in over eighty categories, including Animals, History, Politics, Religion, and my favorite, Food. And if you're anything like me, you have to radish the thought of a website that caters to the truly weird among us who love puns. And, if you aren't a fan of puns, I don't carrot all. Leaf me alone, peas.

Handcuffs

If you collect handcuffs (doesn't everyone?) then you absolutely have to visit this site. Handcuffs.org showcases handcuffs from all over the world, with an emphasis on vintage American handcuffs created from the time of the civil war throughout the 1970's. The site highlights the value of said cuffs, stories on how they were used, a guide to the companies that make them, a bibliography of books about handcuffs, and more. There's even a section on that perennial favorite, thumbcuffs. My favorite section of the website has to be "Escape Artists and Their Crafts," which explore the art of Houdini and others like him. If you're ever caught in a pair of handcuffs and want to find out more about just what exactly is binding your wrists, this website is a surefire escape from your manacled blues.

Web Monkey

Does your kid want a website but you don't know how to go about helping them build one, or are afraid that it might attract unwanted elements from the cesspool of the Internet? Enter Web Monkey, the Lycos-sponsored website that helps kids build safe, secure websites that they can share with their friends and family. The website offers lessons on design, projects such as creating a slideshow, tools to help you create online pictures, and more. And, best of all, it's free. And it's called Web Monkey; what could be better than that?

Pokey the Penguin

Pokey the Penguin is an Internet-only cartoon strip, which has been on the Web since 1998. The artwork (computer generated, it looks like) is astoundingly bad, and there doesn't seem to be much point to the conversation between the characters. The main character, Pokey, looks just like all of the other penguins in the strip, which tends to make things a little hard to follow. Still, if you want to attempt to follow the strip, you can visit the archives and read dozens of past installments in the cartoon. Like the current strip on the main page, though, they're all badly done and don't seem to have many (if any) points to make. Still, sometimes bad is funny, and this is so bad, well, you get the picture.
